Every product in the porter green collection is either biodegradable or so highly durable that replacement is unnecessary, longevity being the ultimate in sustainability.
Principle Materials
At porter green, our favourite natural materials to use when designing products are bamboo and silicone.
Bamboo is naturally sterile, antibacterial and biodegradable. It’s a renewable resource that can be harvested responsibly without harming the environment, is fast-growing, regenerates quickly, requires little water, doesn’t need pesticides or fertilizers, improves soil quality, absorbs carbon and produces oxygen.
A truly incredible material. Silicone made from silica, a substance found in sand, which makes it highly durable and able to withstand extreme temperatures. It doesn’t break down into the dangerous microplastics that pollute the oceans so is much more ocean-friendly than traditional plastics. It doesn’t release harmful toxins when burned and has antimicrobial properties, which offers protection against bacteria, mold, mildew, and other hazardous microbes.
